Teenager and Adult TKD
This class is designed for teenagers and adults and follows a standard ITF Taekwon-Do Syllabus. It is ideal for those looking to try a martial art, improve their fitness, gain self-confidence and have fun making some new friends.
Students may enter the class directly as a white belt (beginner), or may be invited to join the class having obtained their Yellow Belt in the Junior TKD Class and demonstrated sufficient maturity and mindset to cope with the adult syllabus.
The ITF Taekwon-Do Syllabus is divided into ten Coloured belt Kup Grades (White Belt 10th kup to Red Belt Black Tag 1st Kup) and Black Belt Grades (1st-9th Dan). A typical class, will include a wide variety of exercises to teach fundamental movements, patterns, sparring, self-defence and breaking. Given we have two International Instructors and other Black Belt assistants in these classes, we are able to provide grade specific training and individual feedback.
Progress through the colour belt grades is based upon an individual mastering the syllabus and successfully completing a formal club grading with one of our qualified international examiners. Progression to Black Belt Grades is achieved through Association gradings - a grading with other clubs from the All England Association (AETA) and a panel of AETA International Instructors.
Students are encouraged to participate in competitions (once they have sufficient experience) and seminars and events to expand their knowledge and skills further. These events may be hosted by our own Taekwon-Do Association, or other groups associated to ITF England and may be lead by Instructors from around the world.
