Below you will find a short overview of each of our Taekwon-Do classes and a link to more detailed information about how each class works. We use age as a guide for parents as to which class may be most appropriate. However, we recognise that every student will progress at different rates and excel at different things. Therefore we will decide on a case by case basis where an individual is best suited to train.
TKD Kids Classes (3.5 years to 7 years old) |
|
TKD Kids is our progressive life skills course for children between the ages of 3.5 and 6 years. Our specially trained instructors use this internationally successful program to teach skills that will be useful many years after a child has left the program. The program is so much more than a martial arts class. It is designed to stimulate the child physically and mentally through a variety to games and role play tasks, whilst teaching the benefits of strong moral values. |
Junior TKD Classes (7-10 years old) |
|
Our Junior TKD Classes are designed for children aged seven and over. The classes follow a 'tag' syllabus designed to introduce all aspects of ITF Taekwon-Do to children. This class is focused on developing each child’s potential and preparing them to become good citizens . As such, the syllabus provides much more than kicking and punching. Fitness and confidence is combined with developing social awareness (personal safety, anti-bullying etc) and positive self-belief but with a strong focus on fun and personal development.
The tag grading system breaks down the ITF syllabus to reach 'yellow belt' into digestible chunks. This helps the junior student to remain motivated by demonstrating progress at termly gradings. It also allows the student time to develop the required physical and mental foundation which will allow them to obtain the standards required to progress up the colour belt grades. |
Coloured Belt Class (Teenagers and Adults) |
|
This class is designed for teenagers and adults and follows a standard ITF Taekwon-Do Syllabus through coloured belt grades. It is ideal for those looking to try a martial art, improve their fitness, gain self-confidence and have fun making some new friends.
Students may enter the class directly as white Belts or may be invited to join the class having obtained their Yellow Belt in the Junior TKD Class and demonstrated sufficient maturity and mindset to cope with the adult syllabus. As students progress in their training, they will have opportunities to attend competitions and seminars to further expand their Taekwon-Do experience. Those that love the competition experience will have the opportunity to compete both Nationally and Internationally. Those that can demonstrate the skills and commitment can progress to the ITF England Squad and represent England. |
